When making purchases over the Internet (or over the phone) you often must validate your credit card information. You can see the 16-digit code on the front of the card, but there is additional information that confirms the card is legit and you are its owner.

     Provide complete billing information on the online form, including the billing address. Add a separate billing address if different from your mailing address.

     Include the telephone number and full name as it appears on the credit card account. Without the same information the online retailer may void the transaction.

     Type in the expiration date located on the front of the card.

     Add the three-digit code on the back right side of most credit cards, such as Visa and MasterCard. The American Express card has a four-digit number on the front of the card
